An Inspirational Installation
On June 29, the club gathered at Buena Vista Country Club to install its officers for the 2010-2011 Club Year.  The evening began with some acoustic entertainment by John Phebus.  Ed Duffy provided the welcome, Marty Hoag (assisted by flag holder, “Primo” Gus Foster) led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Rev. Jeanette Block gave the blessing.

Ceremony
After a wonderful dinner, Ed Duffy officially opened the ceremony with “Words of Wisdom” to incoming President Linda Foster from various club members, including himself and Carl Kirstein, Hugh McCaffrey, Marty Hoag, Keith Petrosky, Wayne Triantos, Duke Doblick, Bob Swanson, Mike Loyle, Abbey Bradway, Bill Plick, Jerry Batt, Dave Hanrahan, and Norm Neill.

Next, Ed announced that he and Fine Master Plick met to decide what Gus’ name should be now that his wife would soon be Club President.  For the next year, Gus will be known as “Primo” Gus and anyone who fails to comply will be at the mercy of the Fine Master.

Next, outgoing President Ted Lane gave his closing remarks, which included the presentation of the International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians Community Service Award to Henry Hansen.  He also showed his gratitude by giving the gift of a Paul Harris Fellow to be awarded at a later date.

Next, the 2009-2010 Board of Directors was recognized.  Linda presented Ted with mounted gavel and Mary Jane Kinkade presented Ted with the official Club Year scrapbook.

Hugh then led the installation of Linda Foster as our new president, as well as the 2010-2011 Board of Directors.  Ted presented Linda with the Club Pin, which she will guard with her life for the next year.  Linda gave brief remarks with a focus on projects planned in support of youth and eliminating hunger, followed the presentation of yellow roses to each of her Board members.

The evening had a “reckless” end as the club's unofficial band, Train Wreck, took the stage!
